Kentucky Heritage Emergency Response Network
Formed in 2022 in response to the tornadoes in Western Kentucky and flooding in Eastern Kentucky, the Kentucky Heritage Emergency Response Network (KHERN) seeks to increase preparedness, provide resources, and build relationships among arts and cultural heritage institutions. Hear about KHERN’s latest activities and next steps.
Hiding in Plain Sight: Using the Imagination to Assess Risks
What if we took the time to consider possible accidents instead of just the probable ones? Does this aid in preparedness? Yes. Managing and auditing risk to your facility and collections is more effective when we stretch our imaginations. Often, our trusted routines and interactions can render us unaware and unprepared. This interactive workshop led by University of Kentucky Arts Administration faculty member Leah Hamilton will use tabletop scenarios to engage participants in practical ways of auditing risk for a safer and more resilient work environment.
Filson Historical Society Tours
Get a behind the scenes look at the historic collections of original manuscripts, letters, diaries, photographs, architectural records, rare imprints, books, maps, newspapers, textiles, portraits, and other three dimensional items that make up the archives of the Filson.
The workshop is being held in tandem with the MAC Fall Symposium. Those who may have missed Part 1 of the KCA meetings might like to consider attending the MAC symposium where the two-day program will include content along the lines of that covered by KCA previously.
